SPANISH TILE

SPANISH TILE

Dreams of hyacinth
Saffron crocus
Exotic Old World summon
Vivid recall
His musing mind wanders
Dashing spice merchant
Dark eyes moist
With tears of wayward romance
Noblewoman
Stunning Mediterranean Inamorata
His only weakness
Bitter sting
Unexpected
Her piercing words of rejection
Languid letter
Laced with her perfume
Announcing marriage to another
He envisions her delicate olive hand
Smooth as spun silk
Sweet taste of her ambrosial lips
Forever joined with his rival
Raging tremors
Blind dismay
Convulse within his brain
Excruciating heartache
Deafening roar of gunfire
Shatters pains grip
Her notice
Poison pens parchment
Stippled in bloody gore
Crumpled in deaths clinched manus
His consuming love for her
Pooled cruor
Stains the Spanish tile
