NOVEMBER 14th, 2005

NOVEMBER 14th, 2005

Cold grey day
Opaque Cologne sky
Foggy mist of frigid haze
Shrouds gothic architecture
Apricot tea with honey
Steaming potion
Warms my chilly bones
Tasty treat on this winters epoch
Celsius or Fahrenheit
Matters not
Bundle up and walk briskly
Against the stiff north wind
Hearty meal of homemade chicken soup
With fresh grain bread
Delights the depths of my soul
Magical time
Excursion into 17th century Germany
Where massive church steeples
Dot the lush landscape
The town clock strikes three
All is well in the Motherland
So rich in tradition
Hospitality abounds
This enchanted place
Forever seared into my memory
