BLUE FUNK

BLUE FUNK

Condescending tones
Snap like broken bones
Sophisticated naiveté
Grandiose hubris
Daily grind through slipshod façade
Witness to routine hurt
My place
Unable to convert
Alter another’s chosen course
Quite often
I encounter defiance
Blue funk malaise
Ballsy brass contempt
Brazen disrespect
For all things virtuous
My earnest prayers
Lifting up those who suffer
Be it consciously or not
Misplaced in life’s pandemonium
Clinging frantically
To their egotistic swagger
As I wipe the acerbic spit
From my brooding face
My heart
Optimisms hemorrhage
Flowing undeterred
Persistent in my commission
Offering citation
Paradigm of He who saved me
Love my neighbor as myself
Grace
Hope
Salvation
Bursting from His holy light
My focus is to share

Leviticus 19:16-18 (King James Version)

King James Version (KJV)
Public Domain

16Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour; I am the LORD.
17Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.
18Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.
