GLOBAL WARMING
Hot as a glass blowers flame
Brutal summer of 2005
Telltale precursor
As falls fury turned malicious
Mighty twisting winds
Speeds incomprehensible
Nature’s wrath accelerated
Paybacks are truly hell
Global warming spawn
Glaciers melt at a dizzy pace
Strange how we overlook the deaths
Such indifference to the glaring evidence
My heart bleeds for our children
Their inheritance
Disfigured
Mortally wounded
Deadly strike from our frantic quest for fossil fuel
Tis this humble poets opinion
Our feeble absent mindedness
Has established a backyard purgatory
As we have made this toxic bed
So shall we sleep in its squalor
