HIS LIGHT
HIS LIGHT
Rocky precipice
Lofty ledge of lamentation
Pinnacle of my less than storied span
Atypical at best
Dancing naked as a lad
Peculiar tune
Unique rhythm
Throbbing in my brain
Never quite adjusting
To a head in the sand type of trip
Civic charm on the outside
Esoteric vibes
Pulsating within
Incessant clash of Yin and Yang
Darkness ruled for many years
Still quite the eremite
A dreamer
Locked in armistice
Acceptance has come with age
So difficult at times
Blessed beauty of my children
Crowning consummation
For this nomadic poet
Reflecting on the chaotic tour
Life is good
As His light prevails

MOLD ME
MOLD ME
Hubris egotism
So self important was I
Vanity
Nearly snuffed my flame
Mighty man of deceptive prestige
A miserable failure
In essential human protocol
I marvel at the metamorphosis
Blinding pristine grace
To change such rogue persona
Rigid blackened heart
Charred
By years of denial
Foul
From foolish pride
The years seem insignificant
Mortal time
Means nothing to me now
Each new day
A celebration
Victory over aimless death
My God
Do with me what you will
Mold me in thy likeness
Teach me how to live
Specifically
How to give

ACID TEST
ACID TEST
Endless hours wasted
Cloak and dagger theology
Vain arguments
Such useless frustration
Arrogant banal banter
Futile reconciliation
How easily we’ve come undone
By conceited coexistence
Awkward indigestion
Harmony
Shrouded by deception
Rapidly erased by staggered standards
Narrow miss
But failure just the same
Bullet riddled diplomacy
Crumbled bastion
Sinks in shifting sand
Sincere spiritual beliefs
Convert to righteous deeds
Acid test of authenticity
True measure of sanctity
Talk is frivolous now
I never expected you to agree
Unlock your mind instead
May you go in peace my brother
I wish you well on your journey

DEEP END
DEEP END
My journey
Once in shallow tidal pools
Now focused on the deep end
Where the danger lurks
Habitual
Addictive
Alluring aphrodisiac
Mysterious cobalt complexity
Beckons me to delve
Solve the arcane riddle
Esoteric exodus
Weightless mass am I
Buoyant energy
Passions brilliant creation
As once inside my Mothers womb
Diving without falter
Seeking only symmetry
Truthful conscientiousness
Humanistic bends
Hyperventilation
Panic stricken moments
As instinctively I claw
Retreat to the surface
Yet beyond the complications
Found mostly in my mind
A precious treasure waits
Buried in the silent silt
Sacred inner peace
Sanctified oneness
Eternal bond with our Lord
Found only by those who dare
To seek Him without fear

MY SANITY
MY SANITY
Thoughts speed through my feeble brain
Full tilt
Supersonic
Likened to a bullet train
Gliding through a tunnel
Each passing window
Represents a vivid memory
My pen moves mystically
Guided by Holy Ghost penmanship
Difficult to isolate one specific notion
Dwell upon its conceptual significance
Fragments of joyful laughter
Mixed with chunks of horror
A jumbled mess at times
Until I seek His calming presence
My sanity
Clinically “sound” I suppose
Yet fragile
Ever adapting
In the face of relentless temptation
Aggressive satanic attack
Even in the sway of Morpheus
The battle rages on
These words I leave behind
Chronicle my journey
Often I have no clue
To their true in-depth meaning
Personally
A release
Pressure valve if you will
Brief shelter from the explosions in my skull
God’s sacred purpose
Far beyond my humble human grasp
I simply obey
Share the peaks and valleys
Open this poet’s heart to you all
In the name of Jesus Christ

THEY BELIEVE
THEY BELIEVE
Her milky white breasts
So soft
Delicate mounds of silken dreams
He rests his weary head
Lullaby
Rhythmic passionate heartbeat
Sweet shelter from the tempest
No harm
Shall come between them
They lay as one
In their safe down lair
The wicked world can stop
It matters not in loves embrace
Daily assault
Barrage of deadly vice
Evil fails to penetrate
Such sacred harmony
Ticking clock
Resonate metronome
Cool conditioned air
Circulates around the pleasant warmth
Their cozy cocoon
What a treasure to behold
Doors slam shut
Walls cave in from holy opportunity
Perpetual guidance
Available for their asking
Prayerful intervention
They believe
Marriage in His name
He provides
All is well in suburbia

INFIDELITY
INFIDELITY
Murky residue
Lingers in last night’s cocktail glass
The only clue to the crime
Their bedside alarm clock screams
Startles him from blackouts deep coma
No inkling to her cold silence
Shivering fetal fear
Noticeable lack of eye contact
Another vodka laced nightmare
His antiseptic breath
Repulsive
Volatile
Still reeks from copious saturation
Roses will not do this time
Far too late for “I’m sorry”
No more lame excuses
Can heal the bitter scars
Her patience waned years ago
Now
Simply wanting out
His infidelity with a bottle
Adultery just as destructive
Life with an alcoholic
Marriage once so beautiful
Destroyed by hells possession

STAINS
STAINS
The stains we leave behind
Remain forever tarnished
Selfish acts of anger
Impersonal interaction
Unkind words
Insensitive deeds
Blind social pantomime
Horrid mob persecution
Emotional abuse
So often worse than physical assault
Callous hearts within us
Hardened by years of narcissism
Swollen egos
Maim and kill with silent precision
Strange how being miserable
Seems to be our favorite gig
Somehow we fail to notice
Perhaps disregard
The beauty of simplicity
Joyful angels who surround our gloomy malice
Brilliant beacons
Bursting through the blackness
I stand before you guilty
Of all these human frailties
Pompous prior arrogance
Once an evil man
No remorse can undo these past sinful ways
Erase extensive scars
Souls of stone
Can only be softened by grace
Precious free gift of redemption
Righteous transformation
To truly live the example
Gentle guidance from our Savior Jesus Christ
A daily challenge indeed
But priceless and eternal
Forgiven am I by He
And hopefully by those whom I have harmed along the way

THE TELEGRAM
THE TELEGRAM
The telegram was short
Discreet
She collapsed at the messenger’s feet
“We regret to inform you”
“Your Son is dead”
A bullet in his head
A bullet in his head
“He died a hero”
“Valiantly”
Sniper ambush
Along the Yellow Sea
Flag draped coffin
Lay in state
Fragmented remains
Her child’s sad fate
Minute slice of an enormous pie
Yet tears of rage
Sting her eyes
A war designed to “stabilize”
A region clearly dehumanized
God bless you young soldier
May you now rest in peace
Your courage
Not forgotten
Your weariness
Now released

CHOP SHOP THEOLOGY
CHOP SHOP THEOLOGY
Chop shop theology
So appalled am I
By the rise of modern corporate denominations
Mega church mentality
Choreographed Sunday extravaganzas
Cappuccino bars
Valet parking
Dead faith without grateful exuberance
Robotic performance from social pressures
Real estate holdings
Rival those of third world countries
Pressured emphasis on fat “gift” coffers
Such hype defeats the very message
Of our Saviors simple lessons
My bible is quite specific
Clearly marked path of discipleship
To walk as Christ in word and deed
No worries about His sparse earthly possessions
Zero heed paid to financial prosperity
He moved among the prostitutes
Lame and sickly indigents
Compassionate hope He offered
To those who dwelled in the shadows
Somehow we’ve lost sight of sincere servitude
Humble Samaritan actions
Sharing our time with those in need
Buying a meal for a homeless family
Visiting our local nursing homes
Seeking solutions
Instead of pointing fingers of blame
Poverty and despair surrounds us
Simply open our hearts and minds
My beef is not with organized religion
Instead the blatant man made greed
Which infiltrates the holy body of true believers
Preying upon desperate misled souls
Only we can reverse this trend
We must to gather the lost

MORTAL CONSEQUENCES
MORTAL CONSEQUENCES
Sadistic Sultan
Perched upon a tarnished throne
Swirls in dazed vertigo
To the relentless voices in his head
Aloof
Separated
Alone in his maniacal whimsy
Peasant multitudes
Innocent casualties
Afraid to defy his warped control
A law created by man
Does not always deem it legitimate
It requires tremendous courage
To answer the deafening call
Deep within ones soul
Willingness to trudge a narrow path
At risk of all things worldly
The true measure of a warrior
Stand firm
In the face of persecution
Regardless of the mortal consequences
4And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
Revelation 20:4 (King James Version)

HIGH NOON
HIGH NOON
Hot and cold sincerity
Not my gig to judge
I call it as I see it
Audacious at times
No intentions of pulling punches
Echoed threats to Israel
Goading cocky martyrs
“We shall wipe them off the map”
Super powers gather
Foaming at the mouth
Political rhetoric
Full scale snow job
Humming in full production
No problems with perception
Distinct unveiled messages
Coat the massive walls
Insight is a choice
Ignorance
A cowardly disenchantment
Full scale escalation
War of global significance
Brewing at high noon
Grains of sand accelerate
Mankind’s hourglass
Measures our demise
Mortal wounds of conceit
Like picking at a scab
Infection soon shall fester
Self inflicted solecism
The United Nations
Hurdles towards privatization
Yet another step closer
To One World Government agendas
Blasting caps in place
Middle East detonation
As Caliph makes a stand
Rabid tyrant tycoons
Their swords of annihilation
Drawn and poised to strike
This momentous milestone
Anticipated with diabolical patience
Innocent people
Average human cross section
Citizens of the great machine
My urge to beseech us all
You either dig it
Or you don’t
Disturbing harsh truth
Assails us with verisimilitude
Living on the edge
Remarkable days indeed
I pray for all
May thy house be in order
Daniel 8:19-21 (New International Version)

19 He said: "I am going to tell you what will happen later in the time of wrath, because the vision concerns the appointed time of the end. [a] 20 The two-horned ram that you saw represents the kings of Media and Persia. 21 The shaggy goat is the king of Greece, and the large horn between his eyes is the first king.

MY GRACEFUL WIFE TO BE
MY GRACEFUL WIFE TO BE
My thoughts of you never rest
They possess me night and day
Although I’ve yet to meet you
I know you shall find me soon
I drift to your sweet embrace
Loving liquid blanket
I wonder if you will truly understand me
Grasp my heartfelt sentiments
Without the need for words
Intimately feel my passion
Relate to my humble vivid verse
Perceive my deepest creed
Read my eyes like familiar terrain
So long have I lay in wait
As sobriety chased the demons from my mind
I stand ready for your hand my love
Relinquish my very being
Trust you with my life
Cherish you completely
As a blessed gift from God
Oh how I need you precious one
My graceful wife to be

THRUST
THRUST
Curvaceous verse
Panoramic vocabulary
Mind bending soliloquy
Sincere attempt at piercing lyricism
Hermetic thoughts flow freely
Never planned
Absent minded orchestration
Poetic gift is truly divine
His power
Surging through my modest pen
So often I am mystified
By the cryptic finished product
The fine line diminishes
Between my selfish ego
And His holy direction
Once I was so cavalier
Brimming with vain expression
Now my focus is servile
To praise and honor Jesus Christ
Frequently
My words
Misunderstood
Controversial
Perplexing
Even by my own measure
Locution I cannot claim
Flowing from a higher plain
Tender
As a lotus bloom
Porous as planar sandstone
Inspirational I pray
Unassuming legacy
As He leads me along the chosen way
I am honored to share my journey
Sharpened point of view
Perhaps a glimpse of hope
To those who feel my thrust

FACELESS LADY
FACELESS LADY
I feel you out there
Somewhere
Faceless in my deepest dreams
Seeking me
As I am seeking you
Sweet passionate lady
Tender chosen one
Destined to fill my lonely heart
So long I’ve tried to force the hand of fate
Disappointment always follows
Desolate nights grow more difficult
Solitude can be a curse
I believe as God has promised
Soon you shall find me precious one
Impatiently I wait
I need you fervently

GLOBAL WARMING
GLOBAL WARMING
Hot as a glass blowers flame
Brutal summer of 2005
Telltale precursor
As falls fury turned malicious
Mighty twisting winds
Speeds incomprehensible
Nature’s wrath accelerated
Paybacks are truly hell
Global warming spawn
Glaciers melt at a dizzy pace
Strange how we overlook the deaths
Such indifference to the glaring evidence
My heart bleeds for our children
Their inheritance
Disfigured
Mortally wounded
Deadly strike from our frantic quest for fossil fuel
Tis this humble poets opinion
Our feeble absent mindedness
Has established a backyard purgatory
As we have made this toxic bed
So shall we sleep in its squalor

LOWLANDS
LOWLANDS
Haunting misty sheen
Illuminates the whiskey colored depths
Eerie fog cloaked aura
Moon glow spells from ancient witches’ craft
Olive gray Spanish moss
Hangs from scrub oak appendages
Like loosely woven shawls
Serpents
Thick as young tree trunks
Slither in silence through the slimy gloom
Moaning bullfrogs bellow
Ghostly apparitions of dead native warriors
Slain by Desoto’s blood stained greed
Longing for their vengeance spirit
Restless still
Along the Chickasaw bluffs
Mighty swamp
Thriving living creature
Beauty beyond words
Dangerously vibrant
Her siren call
Echoes through the lowlands

EMBELLISHED SPIRIT
EMBELLISHED SPIRIT
Standing tall at 5'9”
Embellished spirit
Borne of angels brew
So far above my former miserable state
Blessed beyond my wildest dreams
This day I conquer demon foes
Armor adorned with grace
Tensile
Yet humane
Prepared for any hindrance
A word man am I
So difficult my task
To fully exalt His inner peace
Gifts so freely given
I pray you all shall find this joy
Alms from Christ the King
My best friend
My Savior
Unique bond
Quite inexplicable
Wondrous holy inhabitation
Life changing metastases
Blissful daily stroll
