Burns deep within my soul
Feelings of love and adoration
Showered on infertile soil
Dreams of romance
Escape my eager grasp
Lonely wind screams through my being
A sad tale
Bittersweet ending
My wounded ego cries tears of scorn
I grieve for what might have been
