WORDS OF WISDOM FROM CHIEF TECUMSEH
Shawnee History©
"So live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about their religion; respect others in their view, and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life, beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and its purpose in the service of your people. Prepare a noble death song for the day when you go over the great divide. Always give a word or a sign of salute when meeting or passing a friend, even a stranger, when in a lonely place. Show respect to all people and grovel to none. When you arise in the morning give thanks for the food and for the joy of living. If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies only in yourself. Abuse no one and no thing, for abuse turns the wise ones to fools and robs the spirit of its vision. When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home."

SINNER'S REQUIEM
SINNER’S REQUIEM
Some are born to follow
Few are called to lead
The measure of true wisdom
Wounds from which we bleed
Notions of Nirvana
Dreams of Godly bliss
Guide us on our journey
Leading us to this
The cost
Complete surrender
Perfect trust in Him
No room for hesitation
Sinner’s requiem
Past faults are obsolete
Our soul is born again
Bathed in Holy splendor
Selfish demons slain
In joyful celebration
The called are rendered free
Ransom of His kingdom
Grace for you and me
Psalm 25:7-9 (King James Version)
7Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O LORD. 8Good and upright is the Lord: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.

KALI OKA ROAD
KALI OKA ROAD
Murky water swirling
Whiskey colored vortex
Macabre swamp oaks
Claw the slimy silt
Eerie green lights
Some say the ghosts of Chickasaw warriors
Haunt the sultry gloom
Bull frogs moan in harmony
Brilliant full moon
Illuminates a she gators burnt orange eyes
Cottonmouths deadly bed
Lurks just beneath the gentle wake
Red clay roads
Treacherous path to nowhere
Olive hued peat moss
Tricky quick sand ambush
Seeping sound of death
Rumors of headless nomads
Enchanted feral waifs
Deep forest trolls
My mind drifts to teenage curiosity
Cold Duck courage
Old friends I shall never forget
South Alabama mysteries
The legend lives on
Down fabled Kali Oka road

WELCOME HOME (For Wayne)
WELCOME HOME
(For Wayne)
Distressed persona
Velvet glove
Short on patience
Lacking love
He screams in anguish
Whispered pitch
Tortured silence
Seething witch
Paranoia
Twisted hell
Bi polar demons
Cast their spell
Be strong dear friend
This too shall pass
Foggy pipe dreams
Empty glass
Sober joy
Horizons new
Groping faith
Will see you through
When hopes abandoned
Comrades flee
Christ is waiting
Patiently
This path we share
You’re not alone
Strength abundant
Welcome home

GULF COAST MEMORIES
GULF COAST MEMORIES
Azaleas
Brilliant fuchsia jewels
Tender white gardenias
Magnolia blossoms sweet
Snakelike Kudzu vines
Creep along the whitewashed trellis
Eerie Spanish moss
Witches locks
Add mystery to her allure
So many traduce
Malign her humble spell
Appealing memories hold me close
Childhood pleasantries
Safety from the storms that swirl of age
Mobile Alabama
Nobel city by the bay
Perdido Key Florida
When sugar sand dunes stood mighty
Fort Morgan’s macabre bloodstained stone
Confederate ghosts
Still haunt the dank black halls
My humble mind drifts back in longing
Warmest approbation
Dreams the years can’t swindle

BREAKDOWN
BREAKDOWN
Demon spirits
Lived beneath my bed
Hellish imps
Consumed my aching head
Heartache
Deluged my lonely soul
Selfish state of mind
Void of self control
Bitter pill of breakdown
Brought me to my knees
Self destructive outlook
Futile to appease
Anguished cries
My Lord, please rescue me
Teach me Father
Hold me close to Thee
Humble wisdom
Trial by Holy fire
Intrinsic alteration
Filled me with desire
Peace incumbent
Blessedness supreme
Ageless restoration
Endless soothing dream
This day I stand triumphant
In tribute to my King
Vessel of anointment
No longer suffering
Halleluiah
Join me in this song
Christ, the healing current
His power keeps me strong

16But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
17And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
18And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

A BULLET SET ME FREE
A BULLET SET ME FREE
Disturbing dream had I last night
Spiritually insignificant
Myself
A fugitive
No clear understanding
Of the reasons for my flight
Safe harbor in the house of a friend
Shelter from the dragnet
Discovered and arrested
Handcuffed for extradition
While staring blankly in defiance
Helpless sitting duck
In the backseat of his car
A zealous FBI agent
Released me from my bondage
A single fatal bullet
Exploded in my left temple
No pain do I recall
Just gore and claret blackness
Amused at my reaction
A laugh for my own mortality
No need to fear this day
My Savior Jesus Christ
Has prepared as room for me
In His Father’s mansion
Weep not
Dear friends and loved ones
My wounds shall set me free
Paradise prolific
Eternal reward for life’s survival
Psalm 23:5-7 (King James Version)
King James Version (KJV)

5Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

METAMORPHOSIS
METAMORPHOSIS
March 2006
Ferocious storm within me
Face down was I
Trembling in mortal fear
A miserable state of being
Hope fleeting
Despondency
Raged beneath my awkward surface
Mired in self destruction
Piercing primary focus
Longing only to sleep
Alive in the biological sense
Yet death gripped my spirit
My faith
Laced with self centered works
Simply going through the motions
Afraid to climb the mountain
Emotionless eyes
Stared blankly at the dreaded dawn
From my dire sweat soaked pillow
Cries of agony
Please save me Lord from me
My own worst enemy
Painful lessons indeed
For this child of forty seven years
Slow metamorphosis
God’s gentle transformation
Layer by stubborn layer
Saved me from the cyclone
Teach me Father
My will I give to Thee
Selah!

10And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.

DEMON WINDS
DEMON WINDS
Roiling ominous clouds
Blackened doom impending
Bleak horizon looms nigh
Celestial intimidation
Precursor to apocalyptic storms approaching
Demon winds howling
Wildly swirling tempest
Darting lightening vengeance
Sky show of awesome fury
Masses scurry for shelter
A mere manmade pittance against nature’s supremacy
Safe harbor
Quiet solitude
In the climax of violent pandemonium
Lay close in His sweet embrace
As it was written by ancient prophets
My prayers go up in urgency
For all to take rapid heed
Jesus Christ awaits your call
Salvations blissful peace
Gifts unrecompensed
Refuge everlasting
Amen

King James Version (KJV)

7Lo, then would I wander far off, and remain in the wilderness. Selah.
8I would hasten my escape from the windy storm and tempest.
9Destroy, O Lord, and divide their tongues: for I have seen violence and strife in the city.

19And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.
20And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.
21Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.
