PATIENT GAZE
As I stand in your presence
Electric waves of peace and joy
Wash over me like holy sunshine
Your arms outstretched
Scarred
Yet gentle and warm
Hold me close in your awesome intimate embrace
The patient gaze of Christ
Penetrates my very soul
My spine tingles
High voltage
Reminiscent of the chills
As I hear my children’s voices
Or my favorite song
I love you Father
As you have taught me
By your ultimate sacrifice
Life eternal
Beside you evermore
Saved by your grace
