A BULLET SET ME FREE
Disturbing dream had I last night
Spiritually insignificant
Myself
A fugitive
No clear understanding
Of the reasons for my flight
Safe harbor in the house of a friend
Shelter from the dragnet
Discovered and arrested
Handcuffed for extradition
While staring blankly in defiance
Helpless sitting duck
In the backseat of his car
A zealous FBI agent
Released me from my bondage
A single fatal bullet
Exploded in my left temple
No pain do I recall
Just gore and claret blackness
Amused at my reaction
A laugh for my own mortality
No need to fear this day
My Savior Jesus Christ
Has prepared as room for me
In His Father’s mansion
Weep not
Dear friends and loved ones
My wounds shall set me free
Paradise prolific
Eternal reward for life’s survival

5Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
